Astronomy Workshop
In Zagora, deep in the Sahara Desert, where the sky is clear and open, you can take part in stargazing. Led by a Belgian astronomer and scientist, the astronomy night is usually one of the most profound experiences of the trip.
Observe the stars through professional telescopes, with the option to attach a camera and take photos.
You’ll be able to see the planets of our solar system in detail, observe star clusters with masses millions of times greater than the Sun, as well as galaxies and star nurseries (nebulae), all while immersed in the deep, magical tranquility of the desert.
This workshop takes place on the rooftop of a hotel with a 500m² area, providing a 360º panoramic view. Positioned southward at a latitude of +30°, you’ll be able to see constellations from the Southern Hemisphere, which are out of reach in central or northern Europe. For most of the year, the sky is clear with no cloud cover and absolutely no light pollution.
This activity lasts about 4 hours, allowing you to immerse yourself in the fascinating mysteries of the cosmos.
After the astronomy night, there’s no better way to continue enjoying the open, contemplative spirit than by watching the sunrise over the dunes.
