If you have already visited Morocco, you’ve surely fallen in love with this country and have thought about returning for new discoveries!
This itinerary is dedicated to those who want the opportunity to explore magical destinations beyond the obvious.
We will explore less touristy places that will provide you with extraordinary new experiences. For example: a fresh fish lunch in caves with fishermen (near Agadir), a safari (Souss Massa National Park), staying in a centuries-old kasbah that is a national monument, crossing the deep and silent desert (Erg Chegaga dunes), attending an astronomy workshop (Zagora), contemplating the unique geology of the Anti-Atlas, and much more.
For sports enthusiasts, be amazed by the vast beaches where surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and even paragliding are practiced.
In addition to incredible landscapes and abundant nature, during this trip, you will immerse yourself in local markets and visit UNESCO World Heritage sites (El Jadida and the medina of Essaouira), which are part of Morocco’s cultural wealth.
The tour is carefully planned for you, depending on the time you have for the trip and your preferences. Contact us so we can inform you about the best itinerary for you. This circuit is just an example of such excursions and, as such, is a suggestion.
In Casablanca, visit the Hassan II Mosque, the only one in Morocco that non-Muslims are allowed to visit. Finally, enjoy a coffee and traditional pastries at “Parc de la Ligue Arabe,” the largest park in the city.
We will then continue to explore Morocco’s Atlantic coast, spending the night in El Jadida.
After exploring El Jadida in the morning, we will head towards Essaouira, passing through Safi first, a coastal city where you can visit the Ksar El Bahr fortress, built by the Portuguese colonizers. In the old town, food stalls and craft markets gather on Rue du Souq. Nearby is the National Ceramic Museum, also located in a fortress, where you can admire the local decorated ceramics.
We will arrive in Essaouira by the end of the day.
Essaouira is one of the most charming cities on the Moroccan coast and a multicultural artistic hub that captivated people like Jimi Hendrix, Orson Welles, and Bob Marley. With a seaside aroma that permanently invades the corners of its medina, the city stands out for its urban life, culture, and gastronomy.
This coastal area, since the time when Carthage was an empire, has always been considered one of the best anchorage spots in the North African Atlantic. Its Medina, built in the 18th century, is one of the few in the world that had actual architectural planning and is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
It was during this period that the city was named Essaouira, which literally means “the beautifully designed.” The city also hosts the famous Gnaoua Music Festival, an ancient spiritual art of North African Islam.
Visit Nouveau Talborj, the city’s center, where you cannot miss the local shops full of color and movement. And why not enjoy a show at the open-air theater? The performances take place throughout the year and are a great way to appreciate and learn about this multifaceted culture.
Take the cable car to the Kasbah Oufella and enjoy the view over the city.
Relax peacefully at a stylish terrace and indulge in traditional Moroccan mint tea. Let yourself be enveloped by the typical aromas and flavors of this city, which is the ultimate invitation to Carpe Diem.
Allow yourself to be enveloped by the soothing sound of the waterfalls and enjoy the comforting tranquility of this unique environment, one you will never forget.
Close to Agadir and the Paradise Valley, you can find Crocparc, a reptile zoo park (with crocodiles, turtles, iguanas), featuring workshops, a cactus garden, and a botanical garden.
In the evening, we return to Agadir.
After a peaceful breakfast in Agadir, we will head to the Souss-Massa National Park, perfect for nature lovers. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to fully enjoy the wildlife that inhabits this protected area. Covering 33,800 hectares, you will have the opportunity to observe species such as the red fox, the elusive Dorcas gazelle, and wild boars.
The park is particularly known for its dedication to the conservation of flora and protection of fauna, with a strong focus on preserving the endangered Eurasian spoonbill, in collaboration with BirdLife International. The park’s commitment to nature has led it to promote ecotourism as a means of both preserving and sharing the region’s vast cultural and natural heritage.
Mirleft
The Berber village of Mirleft is located 140 km from Agadir and is known for its stunning coastal landscape. Its beaches are among the best in Morocco for surfing and sport fishing. Situated on the coastal edge of the Anti-Atlas mountain range, it boasts cliffs that provide a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. Take the opportunity to marvel at this awe-inspiring scenery.
Wednesday is market day in Tafraoute, and the town fills with color and life as merchants offer their various goods. Try argan oil, one of the most sought-after ingredients in the world of cosmetics for its regenerative and nourishing qualities.
After that, we will head to Ait Mansour, and along the way, visit Amlen Valley, which is distinguished by the presence of almond trees and argan trees. It is definitely worth visiting in spring when they are in bloom.
Just 30 km from Tafraoute, you will find Ait Mansour Gorge, considered one of the most beautiful oases in Morocco. Travelers can fully enjoy this unique natural beauty thanks to the possibility of camping, hiking, swimming, and cycling.
The dunes of Erg Chegaga are located 98 km south of the city of Zagora. Due to the aridity of the region, these dunes are extremely difficult to access, only reachable by 4×4, camel, or for the more adventurous, on foot.
Although adventure is what drives the visit to this area, enjoy our luxury desert camp, perfect for relaxing and conversing in a unique and mystical environment. You won’t want to miss watching the peace and magic of the sunset in the heart of the desert.
From the desert, we head towards the lush Zagora. This city is famous for the mountain – or djebel – that dominates it. It is filled with beautiful and majestic palm trees that further enhance this charming town. Every Wednesday and Sunday, there is a large market in the city, ideal for getting to know traditional products and getting lost among the colors and spices.
Very close to Zagora, you will find the picturesque Kasbahs or fortified villages where you can get in touch with the authentic Berber lifestyle.
Astronomy Workshop
The night will be spent in a private Kasbah where you can still feel the medieval way of life. This Kasbah/hotel is connected to Sahara Sky, the first private astronomical observatory with sophisticated telescopes in Morocco, available to guests after dinner, depending on good visibility conditions. Expect to see the Milky Way like you’ve never imagined, explained by German scientists who are the owners and are more than happy to offer you an unforgettable night.
Ouarzazate is known as the “Gateway to the Desert” due to its location between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. There, we will take the opportunity to rest and spend the night.
We will also visit the Kasbah Taouirt, the former fortress, the Pasha Glaoui Palace near the Medina, and the famous movie studios that filmed several historical movies, including the famous “Lawrence of Arabia.”
On the way, we make a stop at Ait Ben Haddou, the most important site along the “Route of the Thousand Kasbahs,” classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is very famous for serving as a backdrop for many Hollywood movies, such as The Mummy, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones.
We will also have time to visit a traditional Berber village. Next, we take the high mountain roads of the High Atlas, making the most of the opportunity to take some photos while enjoying the fresh air and tranquility of the region.
We arrive in Marrakech at the end of the day.
During the day, you’ll be accompanied by a guide dedicated exclusively to Marrakesh, ensuring you experience the best the city has to offer. Discover its history, the enchanting atmosphere, and the sense of wonder and surprise that Marrakesh always delivers.
Highlights of the monuments to visit include:
Madrassa Ben Youssef
An Islamic college from the 12th century in Marrakesh, commissioned by Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf of Morocco. Today, it serves as a museum open to the public.
Koutoubia Mosque
Undoubtedly the most famous and most photographed monument in Marrakesh, built in the 12th century.
Bahia Palace
A stunning palace featuring a large garden, a central courtyard, and various rooms intricately decorated by artisans brought specifically from the city of Fez.
El Badi Palace
An architectural jewel built in the late 16th century by the Saadian Sultan Ahmed al-Mansur Dhahbi. The name “El Badi” translates to “The Incomparable,” a fitting description for a site that was once considered one of the most magnificent palaces in the world. It was constructed to commemorate the Sultan’s victory over the Portuguese army at the Battle of Alcácer Quibir in 1578.
In the evening, dine at Jemaa el-Fna Square, an open-air market where the mix of scents, music, and performances is intoxicating. Enjoy the most traditional and authentic Moroccan food at prices meant for locals. In this square, tourists and locals mingle freely, dining side by side.
Majorelle Gardens
This is Marrakesh’s only botanical garden, featuring exotic plants from around the world. It was designed by artist Jacques Majorelle and later owned by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé.
La Menara
Located 2 km from Jemaa el-Fna Square, this garden is a favorite spot for Marrakchis to enjoy a Sunday afternoon stroll.
Marrakech also offers a rich cultural variety, particularly in its many museums worth visiting:
Yves Saint Laurent Museum
This museum features a permanent exhibition as well as temporary displays showcasing masterpieces by this iconic designer. The building itself is a marvel, blending modern architecture with traditional touches.
Museum of Confluences
Housed in Palais Dar Bacha, one of the finest examples of Arab architecture, this museum hosts temporary exhibitions of art and culture. It also features a very special café where you can sample coffees from around the world in a charming setting.
Maison de la Photographie
A private institution created by Hamid Mergani and Patrick Manac’h, this museum showcases Morocco’s extraordinary diversity through the lens of both famous and anonymous photographers. The collection spans from the early days of photography to the present, including photographs, glass plates, postcards, newspapers, maps, and documentaries.
