Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 Marrakech - Aitbenhaddou - Dades valley

Highlight of the day: High Atlas mountains, Aitbenhaddou Kasbah, Dades valley

We will commence your desert journey with a convenient pick-up from your Marrakech hotel at approximately 8:30 am, embarking on a thrilling tour towards the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Our first destination is a traditional Berber village, where you'll be enchanted by the timeless charm and authentic way of life.

Traversing the scenic high mountain roads of the High Atlas, we'll pause to capture breathtaking photographs amidst the fresh, invigorating air and serene mountain vistas. As we soak in the serenity, our journey continues to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its starring role in numerous Hollywood blockbusters like "The Mummy," "Gladiator," and even "Game of Thrones."

Next, we venture along the iconic "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs," leading us to Kalaat Mgouna – the City of Roses, where fragrant blooms await. Our itinerary also includes a visit to the Skoura oasis, a verdant oasis dotted with ancient Kasbahs embraced by lush palm forests.

The breathtaking Dades Valley, a geological marvel of stunning beauty, offers a stark contrast of arid mountains and fertile valleys, where the symphony of nature's sounds and scents fills the air. In winter, snow-capped peaks add a spectacular backdrop, while ancient Kasbahs, or walled villages, dot the landscape. Stand in awe as you gaze upon Jbel Saghro, a mountainscape so arid it rivals the lunar surface in its barren beauty.

As the day draws to a close, we retire to a serene hotel, where you can unwind with panoramic views of the Dades Gorges, ensuring a peaceful end to an unforgettable adventure.

Day 2 Dades valley - Todra gorges - Merzouga desert

Highlight of the day: Todra gorges, desert towns, sahara desert, camel ride, luxury camping

Arrive at the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs rise to an astonishing 300 meters, separated by mere 15 meters of sheer wonder. Take a leisurely stroll along the riverbank, surrounded by the stunning rock formations that define this unique landscape.

En route to the desert's expanse, Erfoud awaits, a town that holds secrets from the past. Nearby, fossil excavations reveal that the Sahara Desert was once the bed of an ocean, evidenced by the trilobite and other prehistoric fossils discovered here. Explore these ancient relics and even purchase original fossils at affordable prices.

Next, we arrive in Rissani, the capital of the storied Tafilet region, once a bustling trade hub on the caravan routes of the Sahara. Witness the remnants of its golden era, including bustling markets and souks that transport you to a medieval epic, filled with intriguing goods and even a donkey market – a true testament to its authenticity.

The desert holds endless possibilities for adventure, from exhilarating extreme sports to immersive Moroccan cooking workshops, and intimate encounters with the nomadic way of life. Immerse yourself in their music and traditions, experiencing the rhythms of their drums and guitars.

As the sun begins to set, embark on a camel ride through the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, a journey that lasts an hour and leads to a traditional Berber tent where you'll spend the night. Witness the enchanting hues of the dunes at dusk, a photographer's dream come true.

Dinner under the stars is followed by a captivating performance of live traditional music around a warm campfire. As the music fades into the night, the desert's absolute silence beckons, inviting you to find solace and tranquility in the vastness of the sands.

Day 3 Merzouga - Draa valley - Ouarzazate

Highlight of the day: Sunrise at desert, Draa valley, Ouarzazate

The sunrise over the dunes is an ethereal moment etched in your memory forever; the crisp morning air of the desert is a sensation like no other. As you embark on a camel ride back to the support hotel, savor every moment of this unique experience.

Then, it's time to bid farewell to the dunes and set off towards the captivating city of Ouarzazate, the "Gates of the Desert," nestled between the majestic Atlas Mountains and the vast Sahara Desert.

As you venture further, the Draa Valley awaits, a serene oasis offering a refreshing escape from the desert's heat. Our guide will lead you to hidden gems, stunning locations known only to locals, where you can unwind and take in the beauty of lush greenery.

Arrive in Ouarzazate. Explore the ancient Kasbah Taouirt fortress, a testament to the region's rich heritage. Discover the majestic palace of Pasha Glaoui, its grandeur still evident despite the passage of time. Stroll through the Medina, a vibrant marketplace filled with traditional crafts and local delicacies.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the world-renowned film studios, where iconic historical films like Lawrence of Arabia were brought to life. Immerse yourself in the magic of cinema and imagine yourself on the silver screen.

Finally, retreat to a hotel nestled amidst a palm tree forest, where you can unwind and recharge before continuing your journey. This serene setting will provide the perfect ending to an unforgettable day in the heart of Morocco.

The tent in the desert is comfortable (for those who feel hot, it is better to opt for the tent package with air conditioning...”

“It is impossible to put into words the experience I had in Morocco — as if I had rubbed Aladdin's lamp! I travelled alone and when I arrived in Casablanca, Jamal from Siroco was already waiting with a beautiful smile. Siroco planned the itinerary, the riad reservations and everything I wanted. I felt totally safe the whole time. Thank you Alexandra, Jamal and Rachid — Inshallah I will return in 2028!”
